In 2024~2025 a group of PhD nurse practitioners and volunteer nurses traveled to Colombia for a seven-day medical nursing mission. They worked tirelessly under the sun and on rugged terrain, serving elderly adults and children in underserved communities.
With great love and compassion, the team provided clothing, shoes, school supplies, toys, eyeglasses, wheelchairs, canes, and much more. This mission was truly a labor of love.
From this mission was born the school sponsorship project. Due to lack of financial resources for uniforms and school supplies, many children were unable to attend school. Through this project, 28 children were sponsored, giving them the opportunity to continue their education.
Out of this effort also grew a group of generous supporters—gentlemen, NAHN members from New York, individual donors, and the NAHN Houston Chapter who came together to donate tables and chairs to a school in great need.
Today, we are proud to share the new little school, now equipped with these donated tables and chairs, made possible through the tremendous support of Nurses on the Move Inc., the NAHN Houston Chapter, and many individual donors.
